Gate Lodge in North County Dublin
This protected structure is a wonderful example of an arts & crafts cottage. The project was a complete renovation of the existing structure which had become dilapidated. In line with guidance from the relevant conservation authorities, careful attention was taken to ensure as many of the original features were retained as possible.
The house is made entirely of wood, and each and every timber lovingly brought back to life. We modernised the property by installing insulation, and double glazing in the original wood-framed windows. Fitted wardrobes and floor to ceiling in-frame fireplace cabinets were designed and installed. We also installed a gas heating system alongside a wood burning stove in the kitchen’s stunning, original fireplace.

Modern geometric tiles inject a little fun into the scheme and bespoke country dressers complete the farmhouse kitchen look.
A creamy neutral palette accented with warm pastels and natural textiles keep the look and feel of this charming cottage light and airy, whilst also retaining it’s cozy, old world charm!
